Love Poems

Maddie Carpenter is a musician, songwriter, and poet originally from Sonoma County, now based in the East Bay. Her upcoming five-song EP, Love Poems, is set for release on July 18th. The project explores the many ways love shapes us—through grief, romance, friendship, and the quiet evolution that comes with time. Rooted in Americana with touches of pop and indie, Love Poems draws inspiration from artists like Lucinda Williams and Kate Wolf, combining intricate lyrics with intimate, emotionally rich arrangements.

The EP was recorded at Boxer Lodge Studios, an intimate space for storytelling, where Maddie gathered with a group of talented local musicians who helped bring the songs to life.

Over the past year, Maddie has performed at A Celebration of Women in Music festival in Fairfax, CA; the Mill Valley Music Festival concert series; the Fountain Concert Series in Oakland; and as a featured artist for Orelar Napa. She also toured California’s Central Valley and played countless gigs across the region. Most recently, she’s been featured as a songwriter and performer in several songwriter-in-the-round evenings throughout the Bay Area.

Her 2024 single, “Sweet and Slow,” was featured on several curated playlists and received airplay on The KRSH, other Americana-focused stations, and KEXP’s Vinelands. This fall, Maddie will head to Nashville to participate in AmericanaFest. There will be a release show for Love Poems at the Little Hill Lounge in El Cerrito, CA on August 17th at 7pm.
